Well, today I wrote a lot about teachings and a few view points I have about it, but like anything else I will write about it is only my opinion and that is what I love about blogging.
It is all my opinions and that no one has to agree with me except myself. I actually like the idea that people can differ from me and that makes blogging so interesting.
I kind of feared the idea to make my ideas so public, but now that I think about it, it is kind of nice to think that I will get some criticism and then work on it or well, disagree with it.
I like blogging and will keep on doing it when I have time so save.

Social media in the classroom. Is it necessary?
Social media has a impact on all of us, if we want to admit it or not. This will of coarse have a big impact on children of this generation because it is them who will use it the most.
We have to ask ourselves is it necessary to incorporate social media in the classroom, because it has such a huge impact on this generation.
I would say yes, but it depends what it would be used for.Social media must then be used for educational purposes only. It must be used to stimulate the child's thinking and writing skills. It must learn the student to take responsibility for what they are writing and also learn how important it is to have opinions about things that are happening in the world around us.
Social media like blogs should be a necessity for students who love writing and giving ideas about things, but it must not be compulsory for their are children who do not enjoy writing as much as other and would rather give opinions in other forms like pictures or music. The idea of individuality comes to mind here.
Myself as a teacher should also use social media, but to make myself a better teacher. I have to use it as a place to convey my ideas about teaching and also my opinions. I, as a teacher, should use it as a place to make me a "good" teacher.

Did teaching practice change my idea of how I see myself as a teacher?
The time I spend at teaching practice did not really change my idea of how I saw teaching, it just confirmed the idea I had of being a teacher.
What I loved about teaching practice is observing different types of teachers and how they teach the children. It help me get different opinions and also different ideas of how I should teach.
It confirmed my idea of individuality in classrooms and how that should be established. I find it really important that children should know they are special and I still think it is a struggle for teachers to confirm this by children.
I know that teachers can sometimes find it difficult to tend to every single child in the classroom if it is a class of 30 children and this was evident to me while I was at teaching practice.
Teaching practice helped me to think of ideas to exercise these opinions I have about teaching when I become a teacher myself.

How do I see myself as a teacher?
If I have to see myself as a teacher I first have to understand what is a teacher and what makes me a teacher.
If I search what a teacher is on the internet I see it says that it is someone who provides a education. Is that really it? Yes, Education is probably one of the biggest necessities to survive in this world of ours, but to be a teacher is so much more than that. Can you really sum up the duties of a teacher in one sentence like Wikipedia does?
I see myself as a teacher because not only can I provide a education for children, but help them achieve the greatest heights they possibly can. I want them to feel understood and special, because that is what they are. I want every child to feel like their opinions have been heard and to feel that their ideas are important. I want them to think and to question things I say. I want them to have a personality and opinions.
I see myself as a teacher who understands and enjoys the students and the work they do. I do not want children to be sheep who follows everything I do. I want them to follow themselves, but in a appropriate way.
Education is still very important and I will of coarse still learned them the things they need to learn, but I would want to challenge them.
That is how I see myself as being a teacher.

Why I decided to become a teacher?
The one question I have probably been asked the most this year was why I decided to become a teacher. Well, the answer is simple to me. I want to see children grow. I want to see them grow in the people that they want to become and do the things they love to do.
I have come to this conclusion when I myself was a student in school, when I did my last year in high school. It was in the end of the year just before the end exams. I sat down and started thinking about all my friends. Where we started, the different types of personalities we had and the things we had achieved through the years. The things I learned from them and how I learned what I loved to do. Not everyone finds their way in high school, but it is definitely where you start to find your way in life.
I would like to help children find their own unique way in life. We are all different and that makes me want to understand every child in their "different" way.
A good teacher is not just someone who learns the child the subject and goes on with their lives. It is someone who spends extra time individually with the students and learn what they excel in and what they find most difficult. Every person in this world is unique and that is what a teacher should realize.
The things I think a good teacher should have is probably listening skills. A teacher who listens to students, will be respected by the students and that will make the students listen to the teacher. That is definitely a quality that I possess.
A Teacher should also have compassion. A teacher should realize that students are also humans with the same difficulties that any other person has on this earth.
I think that I will become a "good" teacher if I look at the qualities I think a good teacher should have. These are qualities that some of my teachers lacked when I was in school so that is why I feel strongly about these qualities.

HEY! Teacher, leave them kids alone!
As you can see from the title of this post you'll realize that I'm a huge music fanatic. Pink Floyd, Another Brick in the Wall, one of the greatest songs ever written with one of the most controversial lyrics that the world, and South Africa, has ever come across and which is interestingly enough one of my favorite songs to listen to.
This is my first blog post that I'm writing and it kind of makes me nervous to think that the public could read what I write, but I will just make it easy for myself and start off to tell you who I am.
My name is Nadine and I'm currently studying to become a teacher, which kind of explains why Pink Floyd's songs is one of my favorite songs to listen to, because it had such a impact on South African teaching in Apartheid's years. I wanted to create a blog for a long time now, but just couldn't get to it. I want to write about music, any type of music actually, and what music means to me. I also want to write about the career that I'm pursuing. I would love to write about the opinions and ideas I have about teaching.
So this will be my first blog post. Just saying that makes my stomach turn. This would be the first time I put my writing out into the world and it is kind of nerve wrecking, but (to quote Pink Floyd) "All in all it was all just bricks in the wall." I could just see myself as another blogger in the millions out their that are also blogging.
